Self Hypnosis is easy to Learn.
Hypnosis is becoming increasingly popular because it is a powerful and effective treatment option. We frequently use hypnosis in daily life and most of us are unaware of this. However, when used properly, we can make substantial changes that improve our lives. Through the power of hypnosis, our approach to difficult problems and situations can change from hopelessnes to, if it can be done, I will find a way. It can make you more focussed, help achieve life goals and remain calm and relaxed in stressful situations.
When you understand the principles of hypnosis, you can use it to reduce anxieties and fears, stop unpleasant habits and improve or cure many medical conditions. In certain medical illness, hypnosis is far safer and superior to other therapies. You are changing information in your unconscious mind. This is much better than treatment with drugs that have unpleasant side effects and after treatment, the results are long lasting.
Some people avoid having hypnosis. Stage hypnotists, making members of the audience look silly on stage, is partly to blame. They are reluctant to lose control. This is when a good and experienced hypnotist should spend time reassuring subjects and establishing rapport. Alternatively self hypnosis is an excellent substitute. Admittedly you have to work harder but self hypnosis is an empowering tool and will not just help make changes for a better life but you are acquiring a skill that can also help others.
For success, a hypnotherapist must relax his subject into a deep sleep. When this deep level of relaxation is reached, he can now introduce post hypnotic suggestions. This is, perhaps, the most important part of hypnosis. The hypnotist can now imprint positive messages into the unconscious mind. These messages become part of the belief system of the subject with good positive results.
Instead of employing a hypnotist, try self hypnosis. To do this, find a time when you will not be interrupted. Look for a place where you always feel relaxed and comfortable. Either sit in a comfortable chair or sofa or lie on the floor. Decide well in advance how long your session will last. Support your head and keep your eyes fixed on an object at eye level and try your best to keep your mind blank.
Focus on your breathing. Take slow deep breaths. It is best to inhale through your mouth and exhale through your nostrils. While concentrating on your breathing, begin to relax your body. You can start with your toes and progressively relax your entire body by slowly moving up until you reach the head. See yourself going down a staircase and imagine you are going down into a deeper and deeper sleep with every step you take down.
Now that you are in a relaxed and calm state, try linking this feeling to a particular word or object. One day with regular sessions, you will be able to bring back the exact state by thinking of the object or word while awake.
You can buy self hypnosis CDs on the Internet for all sort of illness. I agree that there is a place for these recordings but recording your own self hypnosis script is much better because it will address you specific needs. You can make a long list of the things you need addressing and include them all in your script then make your recording and burn it onto a CD and listen to it while you relax.
At the end of the self hypnosis session, it is time to wake up. You do this by counting up from one to five and tell yourself that as you count up, so you are gradually waking up and at five you will wake up and will be wide awake, calm and relaxed. Keep doing your self hypnosis session regularly and the more you do it, the better you be get at it.
